Holiday Gift Season 2026: When to Buy Each Desk Gift
Share
The 2026 holiday gift season rewards early buyers — especially for desk gifts, where engraving lead times and limited wood runs make November a gamble. This buying calendar tells you exactly when to order each type of desk gift. At Lightyear24 the flagship gifts run from $89.99 to $199.
The Four Buying Windows
September (now) — order engravable and custom pieces; personalization is the first constraint to hit. October — buy kinetic flagships and music boxes while wood runs are full. Early November — the personalization rush begins; order any engraved name gift now. December — only non-engravable, in-stock gifts remain safe bets. The rule: engraving and wood run out before the gifts do.

FAQ
Why buy desk gifts so early?
Two reasons: engraving adds a production step that queues up in November, and handcrafted wood runs are produced in limited batches that sell out before December.
What if I miss the engraving window?
Choose a non-engravable flagship (Manta Ray $169.99, War Horse $199) — these impress without a name, and the assembly kits add an activity.
What is the safest last-minute gift?
The Levitating Gyroscope ($109.99) and kinetic pieces — no personalization, high wow, and year-round appeal.
The Bottom Line
The 2026 gift calendar at Lightyear24: engrave-and-custom now, kinetic flagships in October, name gifts by early November, and in-stock pieces in December. The Dog Calendar ($199.99) and Acorn ($89.99) lead the buy-now list.
