About This Item
Flip it, and watch a cactus grow. This magnetic hourglass planter contains thousands of tiny green-tinted magnetic iron particles that — as they flow through the hourglass neck — are drawn together by the magnet embedded in the base into a perfect miniature cactus, spines and all. The formation happens in real time, is hypnotic, and can be repeated again and again — every flip produces a slightly different cactus. Two pot styles are available: the Classic Clay Edition with a warm terracotta-red clay pot for an organic, earthy aesthetic, or the Metal Aluminum Edition with a sleek silver aluminum pot for a modern, minimalist look. No batteries, no moving parts to maintain — just gravity, magnetism, and green iron sand.
Why You'll Love It
- A Cactus Grows in Real Time — Magnetic iron sand flows and is drawn into a cactus silhouette — spines and all → a hypnotic three minutes — flip it, watch it again
- Every Flip Is Different — The formation varies each time → no two cacti alike
- Two Pot Styles — Classic Clay (terracotta red) or Metal Aluminum (silver) → earthy or minimalist — your desk's call
- No Batteries, No Maintenance — Just gravity, magnetism, and green iron sand → it works the moment you flip it
- Free 10-Character Base Engraving — A name or date on the base → the desk toy becomes a gift

Flip it and the magnetic sand creates a different formation every time. My cactus looks great in the planter section and the whole thing looks intentional on my windowsill
