About This Item

The Scream Hand-Crank Mechanical Figure is a kinetic desk toy featuring a mechanical figure of Edvard Munch's iconic The Scream, powered by a pure gear linkage mechanism — no batteries, no electricity — entirely mechanical. Turn the hand crank and the figure moves through its iconic pose in Munch's own expressionist context: the base carries a full-color reproduction of the painting as a painted backdrop, placing the mechanical figure inside the artwork it comes from. A hidden skeleton companion figure is housed inside the mechanical base — a dark, humorous detail that rewards close inspection and adds collector depth. The PVC figure captures the pose with painted detail, and the ABS base houses the gear linkage, hand crank, and companion.

Why You'll Love It

  • Pure Gear Linkage Drive — Hand crank, no batteries, no electricity — moves on demand → entirely mechanical motion on demand
  • Full-Color Munch Backdrop — The base carries a reproduction of the original painting → the figure lives inside the artwork
  • Hidden Skeleton Companion — A skeleton figure housed inside the mechanical base → a dark, humorous detail for close inspection
  • Longest in the Line — 259 × 134 × 99 mm (10.2" × 5.3" × 3.9") → maximum presence for the kinetic art line
