A solid wood woodpecker with a beak that opens. That's the whole idea — and it's a very good one. The beak is hinged and spring-loaded: open it with one finger, slide in a business card, a sticky note, a small photo, or anything flat enough to fit, and release. The beak closes with a satisfying, spring-loaded snap and holds the item securely. Two wood versions: teak (deep warm brown, pronounced interlocked grain) and beech (pale cream, fine even grain, smooth and warm). A completely functional desk accessory built into a sculpture.
