About This Item
This is not a finished object. It is 355 laser-cut wooden pieces, a set of metal hardware, and a mechanical music box — and it becomes a kinetic jellyfish sculpture when you build it. The Auroral Jellyfish is a mortise-and-tenon 3D wooden puzzle with a built-in mechanical transmission system, LED lighting, and a wind-up music box that plays a gentle, flowing melody. No glue: the pieces lock together through precision-cut joints. Assembly difficulty is 4 out of 5 stars — a genuinely challenging build that rewards patience. When complete, the jellyfish stands tall, its tentacles suspended from the body by fine wires, the transparent acrylic bell glowing from within. Recommended for ages 14+.
Why You'll Love It
- It Moves After Assembly — An internal transmission system animates the tentacles on the same wind-up that plays the music → one mechanism, motion and melody
- 355 Pieces, No Glue — Mortise-and-tenon joints and metal hardware lock the model in place → a 4/5-star build that rewards patience
- Glowing Acrylic Bell — LED light inside the transparent bell → a softly glowing sculpture in a dim room
- 250mm (9.8") Display Piece — Tentacles suspended on fine wires → the build is the gift, the display is the reward
