About This Item
A hemisphere of solid wood — black walnut and beech fitted together into a globe form, the continents visible in the grain contrast at the top. Four independent rings stack beneath the cap: spin the outermost ring to set the month, the next for the tens digit of the date, the next for the units digit, and the innermost for the day of the week. A small red dot on the base marks your position. No batteries. No screen. No notifications. Just wood, and the quiet ritual of turning the rings each morning.
Why You'll Love It
- Globe Form in Two Woods — Black walnut and beech fitted together — continents appear in the grain contrast → a desk sculpture you'll actually look at
- 4 Independent Rotating Rings — Month, date tens, date units, day of week — each on a precision-fitted axis → setting the date becomes a quiet morning ritual
- Perpetual, Not Annual — No batteries, no screen, no notifications, no yearly replacement → the date is always within one turn

FAQ
How do I set the date?
Spin the outermost ring for the month, the next two for the tens and units of the date, and the innermost for the day of week. A red dot on the base marks your position.
Does it need batteries or power?
No — it is a fully mechanical perpetual calendar.
What are the 'continents' made of?
The continents appear as the grain-and-color contrast between the solid black walnut and solid beech fitted into the globe form.
